The product in question is bluetooth which is the way it connects to the Playstation 4 so you can type with it. The product does have a 3.5mm headset port so you can connect a wired headset while using the chatpad on the PS4 controller.This chatpad automaticlly turn off after 10 mins of not being used to save on battery level. But you can wake it back up by pressing any key on the chatpad and it will reconnect within couple seconds.While the product in question lacks lighted up keys it's not hard to see them in dimmed lighted rooms.Overall I find this chatpad useful when you tend to play online games where you can type to other players. That way I don't have to use the on screen keyboard which I find too slow to type something out.It is what it looks to be. I only have one complaint, but it’s kind of significant. When it’s plugged into the controller, the microphone on my headset will not work, and if I don’t plug said headphones in, the sound from the game system comes over the keyboard built-in speaker. Poor pass-through design. What were they thinking?My daughter was going to purchase this at target ($49) but I found the same exact thing here for much less! She has tiny hands and this is lightweight and fits her needs perfectly. I love that Amazon has prices better than stores and provides free shipping to boot!Everything about this keyboard is good, except the fact that there is no BACKLIGHT.Great Item it arrived well protected and it worked as plan.I ordered a PS4 Keyboard for my controller and I got an Xbox keyboard...Purchased it as a gift. The recipient really enjoys it. No complaints
