Works good looks goodIt was cheap but did the job on my old dyno vfr.Solid 5 out of 10it got here fast, it works, happy!I don’t know anything about the item I have not used it still in the package that it came in but it looks really goodfit a 1986 GT im redoing and works as expected, it was a little thinner than I wanted but for what it is , its a great value and looks nice on the bike. I'm adding a pic bit i dont have the forks cut yet so the top cap is not mounted yet. The seat rails were black so this headset brought it together , I purchased the bottom bracket in black as well from Amazon from the same maker.I bought this to go along with a Sunlite fork, and the two paired like peas and carrots! It fit my Raleigh Grand Prix frame very well, and mated to the fork perfectly. It looks pretty nice for an inexpensive headset, especially compared to the 40 year old corroded headset that was on the bike originally. Install instructions were a little lacking, but with a little intuition and some Youtube how-to videos, it was not a difficult job. My only complain about this headset is that it does not have any type of seal for either the upper or lower bearings, allowing for easy water intrusion. I use shorty fenders on my bike, which should almost eliminate this problem, but it would require pretty frequent service otherwise. Other than that detail, this is a great headset, and is a great deal compared to what the name brand units cost at the LBS.Most one inch threaded forks have a groove in the threads which suits a tabbed washer. This headset does not include a tabbed washer - I used the one from my old headset to keep the cup and lock ring from moving together. The key to headset performance is the bicycle's steering tube. Does it have two parallel faces at 90 degrees to the tube? Then the cups should seat nicely. Steering can be excellent with an inexpensive headset. It's not going look great but if adjusted correctly it will perform great. There are bike shops with a steering tube metal shaving tool setup, if your steering tube needs it. A cheap bike is probably correct already - it's the pricey ones that seem to require the treatment.A good value for the money. I didn't want to spend a loton my old bike and this unit worked perfectly.
