Although I don't actually have a Motorola branded radio, I ordered this one to try with an off-brand set of GRMS radios that have the same width between the pins. It fit just fine into my Mohanton radios and so I gave it a test. The sound in the ears was just fine and the boom mic picked up my voice when I pressed PTT button. So it basically works great in that mode.The VOX setting works as well - but I wouldn't call it a true VOX. It seems to me to just be a tx lock. There is no sensitivity to my voice speaking to know when to stop/start transmitting; it just stays on transmit all the time without letting up. Maybe this is just a fluke with this set, but either way I feel like anyone seeing this would expect VOX to work as expected, but does not.Everything else about them seems to be fine, so I'll still give it 4 stars. But I was teetering on 3....maybe I'll just settle for 3.5. :-) So get them if you don't care about VOX, but move on to the next if you do.
