I have pretty large ears and a head large enough that the A50s have to be at the maximum size setting to fit. With the standard ear pieces they push on my ear and the standard rest at the top of the head pushes hard onto me. With these mods, my ears fit INSIDE the ear pieces, and the top part is much more padded, making an overall more comfortable experience.
