Worth the weeks wait to get vs XBox 360 cord for around $20 at gamestop.Paid about $3.60 for replacement cord for Xbox 360 controller & "Turtle Beach" Headset 2.5 x 2.5 male to male adapter. Can always find a comprable product in place of most any Microsoft product. In this case, a few clicks through the Bing Microsoft Search engine, we were able to find this cable to replace a special connector that plugs into the Xbox 360 controller and then to the Headset for send & receive talking.Absolutely NO problem with sound quality. After all, my Son & I are not listening to the Symphony, but just talking.Keep in mind that if you need this cord, as the Xbox Cords are not made so good themselves, make sure to buy a Stereo connector instead of the Mono connecter or you will only be able to talk when plugged in & unplug and listen to TV for replies. At least I think that is how it was, because we found a 2.5 x 2.5 cable at the house, but it was mono & not stereo.Just a Comment that is unrelated in some ways & is in others regarding the 2 major Consoles;Though I'm more of a PS3 guy, we do have both the Xbox 360 & PS3. Our Library actually carries over 400 Xbox games & under 150 PS3 games. They just started buying PS3 games a couple years ago, they opted to buy PS2 games instead of PS3 at 1st. My only issue with the Xbox 360, is that it has reached it's maxed out linits to its platform and they will have to come up with something new 'or' best idea and go with Sony's BlueRay Disk. This would remove the need to use 2 disks now on their newer games. Also, I do not like that you have to pay to play online w/ Xbox & I do not like that controllers do not use Bluetooth communication & that they use household batteries.Just my thoughts.I wanted a replacement stereo cord for between my headset and xbox controller. Rather than purchasing the brand name, Turtle Beach X11 replacement cord (far more expensive), I purchased this item. It worked like a charm. The sound quality is no different than the normal cable. The coating and cable thickness is similar (if not better) to the original headset. While I will admit the 3 feet length is not the longest distance in the world, I have had no issues during gameplay. Sometimes, I notice the length when I set down the controller or take off the headset. Would purchase again without hesitation if needed.--------------------------------------------------------EDIT: June 20th, 2013Hi all,After using my Turtle Beach headset for awhile, I began to notice a problem that some users may be experiencing. This issue may be responsible for some of the cases of background static using the Turtle Beach headset. When I had my plug and play controller (original xbox 360 controller with a usb charger) plugged in AND the Turtle Beach headset USB plugged in, I had background static appear. My teammates could hear this static as well. Unplugging the plug and play charger (using the controller wireless) or switching to a wireless controller removed the background static from my game play (as far as I can tell, no one else has complained of hearing static over my connection anymore). This is a known issue for Turtle Beach. Additional fixes and information can be found on their website (http://www.turtlebeach.com/support/entry/830516287/). Hopefully, this might help some gamers (it sure helped me).I had such a hard time trying to explain, much less find this 2.5mm to 2.5mm male-to-male stereo cord. I had to figure out what the exact size was first though. On several commercial headsets for video gaming (with a chat mic), one end is 3mm and one is 2.5mm, or both ends are 3mm. I was not going to buy yet another expensive Turtle Beach headset because of one cord snapping off inside my chatpad, so I had to hunt. (I got the piece out of the chatpad, fortunately.)Gamestop did not have a replacement cord for this. Wal-Mart did not have a replacement cord for this. I was not going to pay a fortune even if Radio Shack had a replacement cord. After being assured by a KMart electronics department associate that what I needed was a 3mm to 3mm cord, I get home to find that he was wrong, mistakenly assuming he would know better than I. He did not, so I had a new 3mm to 3mm, for no good reason. It was not worth my going all the way back to return it.I was very happy to find what I needed on Amazon. It arrived quickly and was exactly what I needed. Just the cord. It is also not necessary (though some will insist) that you buy a more expensive version of this simple cord. It cost practically nothing, too. I am very happy with it!The reason I bought this cable was because I read other reviews stating that it worked great as a substitute for the Astro Gaming Xbox Live Chat cable. I do not necessarily agree. It seems like the cable works great with some controllers but not all. Based on my experience I think it depends on the type of controller - wireless verse wired. The cable doesn't seem to make a good connection to the port on the bottom of the controller. This causes a very annoying static noise every time the controller is moved and/or the male end rotates inside the controller plug. The side that plugs into the mixamp does not seem to be an issue and I used the cable on the 2013 Mixamp and Pre-2013 Mixamps. In sum, I cant say for sure that this issue reflects the quality of the product itself. However, if you need an Astro xbox live chat cable, I would recommend just buying it from Astro. It is only a few bucks more and it should be guaranteed to work. Hope the review helps.Perfect size, works well with my xbox 360 headset.Works like a charm and has a pretty decent lenght! I use it for Xbox chat with custom headphones.Works as described. ThanksFast delivery and quality product.Great cable, fast shipping, thanks!
