First off, let me say that I'm comparing these to the Turtle Beach Recon 70. I'm a 40 year old "gamer". But not really. I grew playing games but NEVER used a headset until this year. I've been using my son's turtle beach recon 70 headphones and figured it's time to get my own.I pretty much only play Apex Legends so that's the game I'm using as my test and I only play Xbox.Fit and function - these felt fairly comfortable. The padding is good and in fact the head band had a lot of padding and was fairly comfortable. The ear muffs though were just a little small. I was concerned when buying them about them being round and not oval. Well, the round ended up not being an issue but the depth was. It just was a little bit shallow and so my ear was just touching the speaker part (and I'm an average guy 5'8" with average ears). Overall, they just felt bulky as well.one reason I got these was because of the inline volume control. I thought that would be really nice. Well, it ended up not being nice. I find myself putting the cord (generally speaking) behind my shoulder so it's not in my way while gaming. Well, with this headset, the volume control and mute is up high so when I put the cord behind my shoulder, that's where the volume control is. That got annoying real quick every time I wanted to mute. I found myself really wishing it was more like the Recon 70 which has a "flip to mute" function. For PC, this is good because your CPU may be further away and the long cord will be great but if the volume control were near the plug in, that would be bad. So I can't really fault the design here, it's just not what I thought I wanted. The cord is wrapped in bungee material making me feel very secure about the cord lasting a long time and not being easily damaged. The sound quality really isn't bad. Compared to the Recon 70 it's a little deeper/more bass, maybe a little bit more muddy, but not much. I really can't complain too much for a $30 headset. I had no problem hearing footsteps, etc.In the end though, it was just not comfortable enough for me and the sheer bulk of them was not great. I opted to return them after two uses and am getting a refurbished pair of Recon 200's for $40.The only weird things are that you have to use the adapter for PC and plug both wires in to get it to work, and the box is blue but inside is a red pair. Sound quality is fine, noise cancelling is better than I thought it would be. Haven’t figure out microphone but I only bought it to listen to computer at work. The noise cancellation works TOO well lol. But in all seriousness I'm put into the game and the outside world doesn't exist. I play Destiny 2 alot and if I'm not I still use these for other games as well as just streaming shows. The headset is versatile using either for console(Ps4) or PC. The cord is long and has a velcro strap to hold the cord together when rolled up. I would've given it 4 stars due to the USB at the end sometimes getting in the way as well as the cord length. But I gave it 5 because it's definitely designed with pc in mind first, then it being compatible with the Dualshock 4 is second. The light effect is cosmetic but a nice touch to let folks know you're in gameplay and should wait.Mute button and volume dial are nice, I'm used it being on my ear but on the cord is fine.Edit: lasted for about 4 months before the cord bent the wrong way on the wrong day. After that it wasn’t long before the mic went out, then the sound in the headphones. It was delivered, I took it out...it was set up for the old controllers. Not for XBOX ONE S Series. If you spent more on quality instead of looks maybe it would be better. Gamers are buying higher priced headsets bc they are wayyyyy better. I guess it was all you could afford. Make sure it frigging works with your system. It looks cool but didn't work while the parts lined up but we couldn't get it in. That's what she said! LoL.The quality of sound this headset has is so bad it gives me a headache. If you're looking for an inexpensive headset, look at Turtle Beach headsets instead.Works well, only downside is no volume controls.Only used a hand full of times. Have had a eco once or twice but it's expected at this price point. Good buy for the priceThese headphones had great noise cancelation and good sound quality. However, the microphone on the headset was terrible. My friends could not hear me well enough so i returned these.Really nice pair of gaming headphones.I tested this with both PC and PS4, and from what my friend’s have said, my mic quality is much better than other previous gaming headphones I used. The instructions are really easy, so if you are confused it’s easy to understand. The headphones itself are actually really soft and doesn’t cause any discomfort... even after 8 hours of gaming lol. They’ll last a long time I assume, too, purely from the quality. I really recommend these. This is one big headset and it’s not exactly light, but whoo! the sound quality is fantastic. I’ve had to spend a few days adjusting World of Warcraft sound perimeters on my gaming laptop, tweaking here and there, until I’ve got things balanced and of sensible volume, because the bass is truly powerful. My friend informs me that voice chat is now so clear, it’s as if I were standing beside her; I can hear her darn near perfectly, too.The ear cups are very comfortable, but I do find they act as ear muffs as well as mufflers if I wear them for extended gameplay. Toasty ears this winter, then. But, alas, I cannot plug the USB for the LEDs in, because it interferes with sound stability and volume, and I’ve not yet found a way of preventing this nor is there any information about problem solving in the manual.A great headset for the price. The LEDs are bright and super cool, just may not be usable on every device.I bought these for my son to be used for gaming, I have bought 3 pairs in the last 6 months all have gone faulty or broken. Not one to be buying ridiculously priced gaming headset. However the quality of these and the sound is really good so he uses them for listening to music, videos and movies. They are very comfortable and light and the design is really well made. Noise cancelling is decent and you can't hear much with the headset on which is a huge plus, Although getting ones attention is near on impossible! :o)They are used directly on a Xbox One S and literally just plug in and away you go.Overall I'm really impressed with the headset so far, you really get a lot for the price and it's definitely worth giving these a shot before splashing out money on a much more expensive piece of equipment they look the part and are quality!Hope this helps.PhilI use mine for work calls and find the sound quality excellent. They are easy to pair with windows, Ubuntu and Mac with the adaptor working with my USB 3 dock station. Can plug directly into any machine with a 3.5mm Jack port and it works immediately!!... well worth the money given the sound quality! I tested it on iTube movies and it was amazing!! It also fits good on my big head... adjustable settings allow or to fit all head sizes! Definitely recommend...Brought for my teenage son who has gone through many very expensive headphones and he tells me these are really good for playing his games online and talking to his friends while playing (or should I say shouting)
