You have to install AOC audio software which is stupidly hard to find on AOC's website, and even if you do manage to find the software for download it'll immediately prompt you to download some mystery update from some mystery server that will completely, totally, and utterly break mic input. The virtual 7.1 surround is very tinny and echo-ey compared to other headsets I've used, especially the Sony PS4 Gold Wireless Stereo Headset (Amazon item B00HVBPRUO) and the Logitech G533 (Amazon item B01MXE0FKC), and I absolutely recommend leaving it disabled and just using these AOC's as a stereo headset. If I enable any of the advanced audio features, like changing the bit depth or sample rate, everything I listen (like Youtube or Hulu) to has pops and stutters, or weird A/V sync issues. If you uninstall the super horrible AOC audio software and use these as a wired USB headset with whatever generic driver Windows 10 automatically installs, these sound fine. Mic quality is more than adequate for Discord, Teams, Zoom, or whatever else you need a gaming-branded headset for.The padding on the ear cups and headband feels premium and offers good isolation, and to me at least they're comfortable enough to wear all day. The on-cord controls work fine. This particular model seems to go on sale fairly often for far less than MSRP, and if you can catch it at a low price it's worth picking up.I bought a cloud II wireless for my son knowing that hyperX will fit well and the tried-and-tested design is a safe bet but then I also saw the GH401 by AOC Gaming for like half of the price of hyperX so bought it also to test it outSUMMARY:what a good bang for the buck, I really liked the fact that i am saving money from buying a separate headset just for console gamingand if i wanted to plug into something to just get it going, i can do that via the 3.5mm connection (cable included too)I am returning the hyperX lolHere is what I like and not like about it:Likes:- very similar in terms of quality as the hyperX- sound profile is similar to hyperX as well, high treble, decent bass, but not much in between (i suppose all wireless gaming headsets are tuned this way for sensitivity to game play sounds like foot steps and gun fires/fx)- more compact USB adapter than hyperX- MOST IMPORTANT: 3.5mm input for working with consoles!so basically it is a 2-in-1 headset, saving me money from buying a console headset- all buttons and volume wheel on one side, easy to access with left hand- thick padding on the ear cups- round shape still fits me well- voice prompt when turning on or off, or muting the mic (hyperX just beeps which is very hard to tell whether it is on or off when wearing it)Don't likes:- mic is not detachable, not that i need to detach it often (but i never had the sagging problem like the other reviewer had, he must have gotten a bad one)- no mic mute indicator light on the mic boom (i suppose having the voice prompt is enough)- volume wheel is somewhat analog, doesnt adjust the sound in Windows- range isnt as good as hyperX cloud II wireless, but im talking about beyond 30ft through a wall... hyperx was able to do about 40ft... which is already outside of standard usageComfortable and decent quality for the price. The headset is actually pretty good wired but I searched and filtered Amazon to get a wireless head set. The fact that in the title xbox is included makes me wonder if that is to make more money in a search and filter options? Hope your trying to provide a product more than making money or your company is doomed. However Not half bad for the priceSo after my puppy chewed my Rig headphones I wanted to go wireless. I found these and decided to give them a chance. The fit and finish is superb with nice details, sadly that is where the good comments end. The mic boom is floppy and does not stay in place, the wireless part does not work with my Xbox one x, the sound quality is very sub par, there is no real depth or quality to the sound. I sadly would not recommend these and I will be returning mine for another set of Rig headphones.I’d take a Walmart special headset on clearance over these crappy things. Makes u feel like ur in a tunnel, have to yell and can’t hear a darn thing. Oh and the stick doesn’t work for Xbox. Just computer. If ur Xbox then enjoy being stuck using a mic controller attachment cause plugging it straight into ur controller does absolutely nothing but make it so u can’t talk in chat or hear chat.Worst headset by far.False advertising to the max.Don’t waste ur time or money on this hunk of junk.I like to name atleast One good thing so… it’s pretty…So I guess make it a pretty paper weight if ur into wasting money on that sort of thing
