Im starting a job as a PCT EMT in the emergency department in a few weeks and I needed a good stethoscope that could hear well but I also wanted it to be lightweight, I had a hard time debating between the 2 so I just ended up ordering both. One will be returned so let’s see who wins this battle.-MDF :I really love rose gold and you don’t find many rose gold stethoscopes.• I do hear that many people have had issues with the white tube becoming discolored from their scrubs however I believe putting a clear coating on the tubing piece may help that or just getting a different colored tube like black would work.• MDF does come with lifetime warranty and free replacement parts.• I can say that compared to littman I did notice littman being a bit louder, however MDF did have decent sound!• The weight of the MDF is insane. Very heavy at the chest piece which gives the entire thing a pretty heavy feel around your neck. And the tubing is very thick. Not to mention it’s longer compared to Littman, (see pictures) so if you’re okay with a little extra weight or you have a thicker/ bigger chest then I say go for it!• Also to note, since it is rose gold the metal will start to tarnish, It hasn’t happened to mine because I haven’t used it yet, but with rose gold, it’s bound to happen, possibly putting some sort of clear coat might help slow the tarnishing process as well may help. But be aware that using alcohol to clean it, is just going to speed up the tarnishing process, just something to think about.• Also, the price for this stethoscope fluctuates up and down daily so if you’re debating on buying it, just do it and If you don’t like it return it!-LITTMAN• Littman offers warranty for 5 years and accepts free repairs whereas MDF offers lifetime warranty• littman comes in various colors• Lightweight, the tubing is so much thinner and overall the stethoscope itself is shorter which makes it comfortable around a smaller sized neck.• Littman does sound 100% louder and clearer compared to MDF where the sound was a little muffled, still MDF does do a good job but if I could I’d buy a rose gold littman in a minute• With littman I don’t worry about my black scrubs rubbing off on the tubing at all. I almost feel like the tubing on the MDF is different, but I’m not sure. But seeing as though my Littman is blue, I doubt I’ll have as much to worry about compared to a bright white tube. And please DO NOT clean your stethoscope with bleach people, the tubing will become discolored very easily.•Lastly, this Littman stethoscope is the best thing to clean. I don’t worry about cleaning it with rubbing alcohol at all. I understand that MDF and littman are both stainless steel, however MDF has a rose gold coating over it, it isn’t solid. So keep that in mind when cleaning the metal.Hope this helps someone who’s debating between MDF & Littman like I am!Amazon has been a pain and terrible in handling this order. I had to call my bank to dispute this charge for an item that was canceled and didn't get a refund due to an amazon glitch! The customer rep was no help despite this being an amazon issue.I ordered from the MDF site, and they were a joy and the best to work with. I wish Amazon would learn from them.Amazon's 2-day delivery is a joke and a rip-off; MDF delivery was sooner than the anticipated date. MDF site is the best for this!A great gift...bought this for my daughter who is a NP. She loves it!!I wanted to purchase this as I needed a new stethoscope. It has great quality for the product. It is so clear to hear the beats of the heart.I was expecting rose gold. A little disappointed there.I’m a nursing student and I wanted a really good stethoscope. I researched and this one was one of the top 5. It’s amazing! It’s clear and picks up everything. Worth the money.Heavier than most but great sound quality. Love it!!Amazing product super happy with it!I've no idea how this compares with a 'like for like' on equivalent specification with Littmann but on a price-to-price comparison it appears *much* better. Below is a simple good/bad comparison to my previous steth (a Littman Classic III).Bad: - Heavier - Much stiffer tubing (although it seems like it's angled at the right angle for typical bedside examination)(Not as many colour options?!)Good: - *Much* better sound quality - which surely must be the overriding factor - (Apparently) lifetime free replacement of parts (and some spares already supplied) - Softer earpieces with multiple size options - definitely a very important factor when you're using it every day a lot.(I am a junior doctor working mostly in medicine.)Im a paramedic and purchased this as a stand-in after I misplaced my Littmann Classic II SE. I had already purchased a Classic III but was worried it wouldn't arrive in time for my next run of shifts so picked this up with prime delivery. So far I haven't tried this in the field but using it on house mates I can say that the acoustics are absolutely fantastic. Lung sounds are amplified and I can hear clearly even through clothing. Compared to my old Classic II and new Classic III this steth is a huge cut above the rest. I can only see one downside which is the size and weight - this will not fit into my pocket and may need to live in my obs kit. I will update this review after using it in the field.Sound quality very bad, not worthy the money. Good as a gift for a child but for medical purposes not fit in my opinion. Cheaper than littmann but due to bad sound it now costs me more as need to still buy a littmannThe design on the tubing is a bit blurred. Not as pretty as it looks in the photo.Great stethoscope! I purchased this to replace an old Litmann stethoscope that had gone missing on a ward. To buy the same Litmann again would have been similar in price. The sound quality on this is far superior. I'm glad I went with the MDF!
