In these days of working from home and having a dog that likes to bark at anyone that she sees out the window, I needed a noise canceling microphone. I did my research and decided that these were the best ones since I didn't feel like remembering to recharge it and was looking for something light and comfortable to wear for eight hours a day. The volume controls, mute button, and hang up button, work well with Microsoft Teams. Mute button is the most useful one. The most impressive is how well the noise canceling microphone works. My dog can be barking at full volume 6-10 feet away, and the caller on the other end doesn't hear any barking at all! Just this fact alone makes it worth it! The USB connection is nice and secure and works well with my Windows 10 laptop without requiring any drivers.A life saver!!!While working remotely, conference calls via Zoom/WebEx/etc have been very challenging due to bad reception/breaking/lost connection. I was using a 6-year-old bluetooth headphone, and suddenly experiencing the issues: not just lost connection, but system shutdown - blue screen of death in Windows 10 due to bluetooth connection issue (WDF-Violation). I can bear lost connection issues, but not the system shutdown...Why I choose USB version? Although I like wireless devices, I want worry-free simple devices for work.Plug it in and ready to go (after some adjustment in windows setting: headset and mic volume setting).Very light and comfortable for all day usage - well, that would be like since nobody works 24-hour straight. Due to very light construction, it does not have much constraints on your ears nor head while you are on the call. Not puffy ear pads, but good enough.Sound quality is superb - both hearing and speaking!!! I can hear what others are saying clearly as well as my speech. Others can hear my speech clearly with very good noise isolation thanks to Sennhesier mic (mic will pick the sound from your mouth, not from the surrounding). This is not an audiophile headphone, but okay to listen any music without switching the headsets.Control function is another great feature: you can easily control the volume of sound as well as muting the mic instantly.Overall, this is the most effective headset with a mic at very affordable price. If you are looking for a headset with a mic for remote working/learning, this would be your great companion.Be safe and positive!!!I bought my first pair of Sennheisers about 5 years ago. The quality is so good I also record a podcast on it. I am on Zoom as the CEO of a services company some 6-8 hours a day-both before and during the pandemic.I have since issued these headphones to anyone in my company who needs a pair. They're phenomenal. And it's not just "good for the price" -- recently the foam earpads got just so worn out I set out to see if I could "upgrade."I tried every one of Wirecutter's picks and none of them had the mic quality this one does for the price. It absolutely kills background noise (all but the worst of it). Think gas powered lawn mowers, dryers, etc. the boom is adjustable too. I wear glasses and the headset doesn't hurt my ears after being worn for hours. I've also really abused these things, thrown them in backpacks for travel without a case, and they just keep going. if Sennheiser wold just sell me some foam ear pads I'd probably just replace those. This thing is THAT good.I tried headsets that cost 10x what this costs--and the mic quality was nowhere as good. Those other headsets also don't let you wear the mic on the left side if you wish, nor do they have a cord that's as long as this one, with an inline control. I like being able to mute with a button on the line vs fiddling with my headset on a video call. It's distracting to people. On top of it, I don't look like an air traffic controller because the ear pieces are not large. Even music from my laptop sounds just fine.I really did try to replace these with something "better"- but in the end, I couldn't do it. I tried to spend a lot more money but nothing was as good as these. It almost never happens anymore that you get a great product at such a great price. Thanks, Sennheiser!I don't know how they can do this for the price, but I'm glad they can.I ordered these at the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020) and have been using them for hours during the workday ever since. They are comfortable, even for extended wear, and the sound quality is spectacular. I have not had issues with the drivers at all, just plug them into a computer and they work. I am happy to say my original pair is still going strong, after 15 months of heavy use. I did notice that the wire that runs through the plastic headpiece is not stuck on well, and one section came nearly all the way out of the groove it was housed in. I fixed it though, by filling the groove with black sugru. Not only did it hold very well, the color match was so perfect the headset looks like it was manufactured that way. Yes they could have done a little better sealing the wire in, but even so, I still bought a second pair of these for my house as I really enjoy using them. The Sennheiser SC60 USB headset has made a huge difference to Teams/Zoom calls. Previously, I only used the laptop's inbuilt mic and speakers. The sound quality is very good and I now feel as though I can have a 1-2-1 conversation, as opposed to having to shout loudly, or seem to interrupt due to my mic not picking up my voice very well- the mic on the headset is also worlds apart. The button controls on the lead also work very well. Whether it's quicker to use the mute button or use the one in the Teams app, is a close call. The volume control is better than Teams/laptop, though. This controls the laptops volume so will work for when Pop Master comes on!Well worth the £36 paid.Hint: the wire tends to twist and collect around the volume control: I have found that by hanging the headset from a picture hook keeps it perfect. This is my second Sennheiser 504547 headset - I got the first during the early days of Covid, and now that we're back in the office, this second set is my backup for working from home. The first one is still going strong after 30 months. Really comfortable, great fit, excellent sound quality in terms of both broadcast and receive modes, and I couldn't fault this headset. Great value for money as well. The sound quality of these is very good and such is crystal clear. I can hear whoever I'm talking to, or also the other people on a conference call. The microphone is very good and people can hear me just fine when I speak normally. The mute switch on the lead works very well too and allows me to mutter to myself when needed!Overall I highly recommend these; there are no bad points. When you receive a "new" item just in an open plastic bag, what would you think? Also want to echo other reviews here, what you receive is different than what is shown in the pictures, the trademark is different, the quality made won't be what you would expect from Sennheiser. Flimsy and cheap.
