I bought both this Audio 2000 as well as the Pyle-Pro PWMA 50 Watt with Rechargeable Batteries. This review will compare both and will talk about the pros and cons.I train companies. I will train between 20-40 people, in a room the size of anything between a large office conference room to a ballroom at a hotel. When I talk, it will be from 9am - 4pm (with breaks for lunch, etc.). So far I have worn the Audio 2000 for 3 trainings: 1) in a conference room for 20 people, 2) in a class-room type room for 30, and 3) in a hotel ballroom for 40 (the room was much too big for our group). I travel by air using one carry-on case. So I need a unit that is small and light enough to carry with me. I now feel like I know this product well enough to write about it.Pyle Pro vs Audio 2000: I wasn't sure which unit to buy - so I bought both. The Pyle Pro is a bit cheaper ($5), the speaker unit is a lot smaller and lighter, and it uses rechargeable batteries that are included. So I really liked the idea of the Pyle Pro and thought I was going to want to keep it. However, when I compared the units side by side, the Audio 2000 was almost 3x as loud! The Pyle Pro was just not loud enough. Now, because the Pyle Pro is softer, there is less distortion and my voice sounded more natural - but it defeated the purpose of needing a small PA with a microphone - my voice was just too soft. So I put the Pyle Pro back in the box and used the Audio 2000.Size: It is larger and heavier than some of the other units (and definitely bigger than the Pyle Pro). At its widest, it is approximately 7" x 2". And with the 8 DD batteries it weighs between 1-2lbs (I am guessing that one, I don't have a small scale). But it comes with a perfectly sized carry case (which is good for travel purposes and protects the microphone). That said, I traded the size and weight for the better speaker - and it was totally worth it!Batteries: 8 batteries is a lot. And if they are going to run out quickly, then I will buy rechargeable batteries. But so far I haven't. I have had the unit on and talking for 18+ hours so far on the same set of batteries. I will update when I know how long one set of batteries will last.Belt: It is huge! Totally opened up it is around 70". It will fit almost everyone. So I have cut the belt to fit me.Microphone: It doesn't work over my head. So I put it on my neck. I actually like it there.Feedback: Feedback is basically caused when the microphone is in front of and too close to the speaker. I have noticed the smaller the room, the lower I have to keep the speaker so there is no feedback. (In converse, the larger the room, the less feedback). There are no numbers on the dial, so it is hard to gauge how loud I am turning the dial. In fact, I wish they did have numbers! Because there aren't any, during short breaks I don't turn off the unit, instead I just unplug the microphone, so that way I don't have to figure out the perfect 'loudness' again. I figure once or twice a day I accidentally get one of those horrible feedback sounds because I have placed the microphone too close or accidentally turn it too loud, but I would guess with use that I will do it even less.Comparison to a big speaker and microphone: there is no comparison - if you have a big unit, it will sound better. Basically you are exchanging sound quality for size. There is no way I could bring a bigger unit with me when I travel - so this is the best I can get for the size.Use: This is perfect for my use - talking. I could not imagine using it for an exercise class - it is too big and if the instructor is moving around (e.g., Zumba) it will bounce around everywhere and would not be comfortable. And I have not tried it for singing (no one would want to hear me sing! :) I don't think it would be great - but it may be better than nothing... For talking it is perfect.Sum: For the price and the size, this Audio 2000 AWP6202 is GREAT!!!!! When I have to do back to back training days, my voice ends up hurting, and I get a headache. (There was one time I was fighting a cold and had to do 5 days in a row - by day 3 I absolutely couldn't talk.) So this unit saves my voice! In summary, it allows me to talk at a soft level with no strain, and the entire room can hear me!!!I hope this is helpful to you - I wish I would have bought this unit years ago!!!UPDATE: I LOVE this PA!! I have now used it for several months and I have only had to change the batteries ONCE! This unit saves my voice, it is totally portable, and I am not spending a fortune on batteries. I am thrilled with this PA!
