I work from home, in a job where I have meetings intermittently throughout the day. Because I'm not constantly in meetings, I don't want to wear headphones all day - I need something I can quickly grab and turn on/put on as needed. My home is generally pretty quiet, so no need for noise cancelling; in fact I find it difficult to have a call with noise cancelling, or with both ears covered, as it makes it hard for me to hear myself/my own volume. I also have a good integrated microphone with my camera, so there's no need for a boom mic or anything like you would find on a traditional phone headset.I needed something simple: basic non-wired Bluetooth headphones, which could be used one-ear only. Integrated mic would be a bonus if it was a good one, but not at all essential.I'd been using BT ear buds, but they don't stay in my ears very well causing me to constantly fuss with them/drop them during calls, and I'd been having some inner ear pain and decided to try to find something that met the criteria above, but didn't go inside the ear canal.I had no idea this would be so hard to find.Eventually though, I stumbled on this set. Mixed reviews, a lot of comments/concerns about sound quality and mic quality, but notable pros: lightweight, comfortable to wear over time, holds a charge. They're perfect. They're exactly what I need: the charging case lives on my desk at the base of my monitor. When I have a call, I grab one of them out of the case and it connects to my computer instantly. The sound is perfectly fine for a voice or video call in a reasonably quiet room, I can hear and understand everyone I'm talking to. My computer is smart enough to use my camera microphone as default, since it's better. It's lightweight and reasonably comfortable on my ear, even while wearing glasses. I can still hear what's going on around me when I'm on a call or using them to watch a video/listen to a podcast - my desk faces away from a door, so that's helpful and reduces minor "oh god someone's behind me" jump scares.Would they be great walking around a loud city listening to music you care about? No, probably not. But for how I use them, they're absolutely ideal.
