i went from the Razer Kraken Pro gaming headset to this. I have to say that i'm glad i did for a few reasons.1. doesn't require any annoying software (though there is a software suite you can download to tweak things)2. the ear pads won't crack and start flaking fake leather bits on the side of your face/ears3. the ear pads are shaped to allow your entire ear to go inside, thus feeling much more comfortable.4. the mesh ear pads don't make your ears/head as hot during long game play sessions.I bought the refurbished version of these head phones. the packaging was a bit random not really in an OEM style box or anything close to it, but all of the components and paperwork were included. no part of the cloth exterior looks damaged, stained, or dirty. the sound quality is very good for the price and everything just worked the second i plugged it in.if you are on a budget, this isn't a bad choice.
