I've tried two stem locks from amazon at this point. I've used this stem lock on my e-ride pro SS 2.0 and the Kemimoto stem lock on my Surron. Based on my experience with both of them, I personally prefer the Kemimoto stem lock over this one. The Kemimoto stem lock is made from a bigger chunk of aluminum and comes with more steerer tube spacers than this one does. It also seems to have a better stem cap than this one. The price is pretty similar too so all things considered, I would recommend the Kemimoto stem lock over this one. That being said, this is still a decent stem lock. It tightens up your fork around the head tube and ensures that your fork doesn't come loose and ruin your frame by turning your head tube into an oval. I would consider a stem lock to be an essential mod for the Surron because I've seen quite a few Surrons with ovaled out head tubes. This stem lock feels pretty secure once installed and is quite easy to install as well. You just have to insert the big nut into the bottom of the lower crown on the fork, then thread the screw through the top of the steerer tube into the nut. Then tighten everything up and you're good to go. I would highly recommend using some blue locktite to make sure things stay in place too.Overall, I would consider this stem lock to be acceptable quality. It works well and looks pretty clean after installation. You can't really tell its there once you put it on. If you're shopping around with your stem lock options on Amazon, I would recommend checking out the Kemimoto stem lock because I believe it accomplishes the same thing as this one but is built more robustly and comes with more stem spacers. Don't get me wrong, this one is decent, but you can spend a few more dollars and get a really well made stem lock set with tons of spacers from Kemimoto. But overall I would consider this to be a good stem lock and it seems plenty solid for hard riding. I would recommend this one if you have a compelling reason to order it but shop around a bit and compare your options.
