I've tried quite few bone conductive headphones since they became a thing, they were pretty much all garbage, so I decided to go with the household name of bone conductive headphones, it was Aftershockz back then before they changed their name to just Shokz. I knew then what's true bone conduction and never looked back. In fact I bought several of their headsets as they kept on getting better and better over the years, my latest was their flagship OpenComm2 UC which was great up till recently when I started getting feedback from people on the other side of the line complaining about garbled sound or background noise! I still believe this is more of computer issue rather than the headset itself, but I was also ready to try something new.So I ordered these MAIRDI with not much faith in a complete unknown brand and given past history with brands claiming bone conduction when it they just slap tiny speakers that tingle next to your ears.First impression wasn't great! although the unboxing experience was quite similar to that of the high-end Shokz. These headphones were quite beefier, thicker compared to the Opencomm2, bring used to the Shokz for years I was worried these would look and feel ridiculous when put on. Surprisingly they don't, and even more surprisingly they felt much more lighter even gave the sense they're hallow! The surprises kept on coming... On top of being much more comfortable than the shokz to a point I can't even tell if I have them on. On top of that, their sound quality is rivaling that of Shokz if not surpassing it! There's zero vibrations or sound that I could feel/hear, just pure bone conduction! The sound does feel a bit deeper but still very clear. The sound prompts are in a British feminine voice that is in clear English. One thing missing compared to Shokz is the voice prompt telling the battery charge state. The mic is similar to that of Opencomm2, it can swivel, however it does feel slightly less robust than that of Shokz, it also has no built-in mute button.Like the Opencomm2, these MAIRDI have proprietary magnetized charging port and cable. The good thing is Shokz charging cable does fit and couple with these MAIRDI, however the polarity of the magnets is reversed. I manged to keep using my old Shokz cable by just swapping its magnets around!Although they're much bigger than shokz, they don't seems to translate their size to bigger battery! Don't get me wrong, a single charge still lasts quite a long time.In all I'm really happy by how they turned out. These are definitely better than the Shokz.5 stars
