Awesome, just awesome I got my Enya NEXG SE today and it blows me away and I am so freaking impressed with it. I have no idea how I’m going to be able to make my review short, but I really want to try to convey as much information that is hard to find in most reviews or on YouTube. FIRST, I have ZERO affiliation with Enya, zero, I’m actually a Civil Engineer by trade. So, if you think this is an over-the-top fake review, I can absolutely assure you that it is not. I am so freaking happy with my new NEXG SE, so much so that my wife says that she thinks I’m now emotionally involved with it lol. I may even name it, take it on long walks by ocean, sit under a star filled wilderness sky and start attending yoga classes together. In the shipping box you get a very nice soft-shell bag. The bag has a lot of padding and is of high quality. It reminds me of that tearless military nylon material. Enya designed the packaging in such a way that it keeps it secure and fully protected. First thing I’d like to point out: The listing describes it as a travel guitar, sure it’s shorter and thinner than a traditional acoustic guitar and will fit in an overhead compartment on the airplane. But in my opinion, it’s a full-fledged play it all the time guitar that travels well. It has a strong amplifier so when you power it on and play the sound is huge and will seriously impress you. The Tuner even Beeps when your string is in tune The guitar can also be very loud way louder than any acoustic that I have ever played. I feel that the sound from the guitar would easily fill a room with the guitar or just streaming music through it. The bass port is up against your belly, so it even has resonance like the traditional guitar that you can feel. So many things tell me the guitar is of high quality. For so many reasons I feel like there was an emphasis and thoughtfulness that hyper focused on the player in throughout the designing process. I know that sounds cheesy but I really mean it. It probably comes from my engineering background, where the smallest details can make or break a billion-dollar project. The guitar has real weight to it and lends to the feeling of a guitar costing in the thousands. It’s made from carbon fiber and is seamless and feels like a normal electric guitar when you hold and play it. The finish on the guitar is flawless, I’m not sure what the painting process is to get a blemish free finish, whatever it is, it works. The neck comes far enough into the body that you can easily play the uppermost frets. I was impressed with the quality of the fret- work and fretboard with rounded frets. The guitar has worked well right out of the box and seems to have been set up properly at the factory. The location of the electronics panel is easy to see. The top bar fits perfectly and doesn’t even look like it’s a removable piece and is super easy to install and remove. Honestly it feels no different than any other guitar other that its volume knob is easier to get to. There is a cool ENYA light on the front of the guitar that pulsates (there are light options that are adjustable in the app) that tells you when your guitar is powered on. The guitar even had ¾ of a charge when it came so I could play it right out of the box. You even get a wireless mic that you can sing with effects added right through the guitar speakers They include a very nice wall wart and right-angle cable to charge with. The Allan key for adjusting the truss rod has rubber on the long end so it doesn’t dig into your fingers. There is a rubber strip on the bottom of the body so the guitar wont slide of your leg while playing it. One of the speakers is an actual subwoofer that creates the full body sound. In my opinion it sounds as good as any nice acoustic if not better, because you can customize the audio to your hearts delight. The app easy to install and use. Example, there is bank of stomp box effects pedals (not cheesy lite versions) that are completely customizable and the changes you make are immediately sent to the guitar via Bluetooth. The app includes a drum machine with enough rhythm tracks to create a song with. There is a center cancelling feature so you can sing along with a backing track that’s played through the guitar’s speakers all the while playing guitar at the same time. I plugged the guitar direct to my DAW and it worked flawlessly. I played through a traditional Black Star amp and went heavy metal nuts with it. This morning I recorded me playing into my iPhone and via Bluetooth, I played it back through my guitar and jammed with it. The app has a mixer so you can adjust the levels on the drums, the Bluetooth audio, the microphone, the line in and the guitar levels that you hear in real time. The natural sound of the guitar is gorgeous even on the acoustic setting without any effects. I’m telling you that the sound of the guitar will impress the heck out of you. It’s especially nice that you can play through a set of headphones with or without effects. My Conclusion: If you’re looking for a cool new silent guitar with effects, I highly recommend one of Enya NEXG guitars because mine has completely blown away all of my expectations, and then some.
