Well first off the headphone cord is long enough for you to hold your phone at your waist & plug in to. Unless there's a new jogging underwater trend I'm unaware of swimming headphone cords are generally super short as they just have to reach from your device, usually clipped onto the back of your goggles, to your ears. I initially bought these as they looked like they looped around your ear & had the earbud outside your ear which interested me because most earbuds you have to cram into your ears. The issue I have is that even tough they are labeled left & right they do not stay in AT ALL. The shape of the loop doesn't seem to be made to fit human ears. I tried them right side up & upside down & was not even able to make it a single lap in the pool without the loop slipping off my ear all the while the super long cord doing its best to strangle me as I had tried to fold it behind my goggle strap to no avail. I suppose these would work better for someone walking but they fail in every way for a swimmer.
